Luke Bauer struck out five over five innings to earn the pitching win for the Cougars (7-0). Ford Klier had three hits for Old Lyme (2-3).

East Hampton 22, Hale-Ray 0 >> At Moodus, Kyle Cutler earned the pitching win for the visiting Bellringers (4-3) on Monday. The Noises fell to 0-5.
Law 3, Valley Regional 2 >> At Deep River, Arik Sypher and Ryan Kelly each had two hits in the Warriors’ non-league loss. Valley is 4-2. Law improved to 3-4.
Softball
Mercy 8, Sheehan 0 >> At Middletown, Sarah Flanagan and Bri Sawicki combined for a two-hitter to lead the host Tigers to an SCC win on Monday afternoon. Sawicki struck out five over four innings.
Tiff Mangiameli, Blake Braman, and Michelle Theilgard each had two hits for Mercy (4-2). The Titans fell to 0-5.
Cromwell 7, Westbrook 1 >> Senior pitcher Maddy Budzik allowed only three hits while striking out two to lift the visiting Panthers (2-3).
Freshmen Jenna Massiello had four hits, including a double and two triples, to pace Cromwell’s offense.
Westbrook is 5-2.
Girls Lacrosse
Haddam-Killingworth 22, Valley Regional 6 >> At Deep River, junior Brinley Anderson scored nine goals and dished out two assists to power the Cougars on Monday.
Hayley Gesick tallied four goals and three assists, Julie Hausherr chipped in three goals and three assists, and Grace Lindell netted three goals for H-K (1-3).
Allie Ruell, Julia Hammond, and Breanna O’Brien had two goals apiece for the T-birds (0-4).
Sheehan 10, Mercy 8 >> At Wallingford, junior Emilee Giacondino scored a game-high six goals to pace the host Titans (4-0).
Marialena Bevilacqua had three goals and Jordyn Masse added two goals for the Tigers (1-4).
Boys Tennis
Xavier 6, Wilbur Cross 1 >> At New Haven, Ian Thompson and DJ Ciampi cruised to straight set singles wins to lead the Falcons on Monday.
Xavier (3-3) also swept the doubles matches behind Kyle Ericson and Alex Boniauto, Nick Ericson and Eddie Basauri, and Zach Matthews and Quillan Dwyer.
Angelica Rodriguez captured first singles for the Governors (0-4).
Coginchaug 6, Haddam-Killingworth 1 >> At Durham, Kyle Judson and Riley Carey won straight set single matches for the host Blue Devils (1-6). Ben McLaughlin captured second singles for the Cougars (1-4).
