Cheshire completed a 19-1 regular season and goes into the postseason as the No. 1-ranked team in the latest GameTimeCT / New Haven Register Top 10 Softball Poll.
Norwich Free Academy, which also finished 19-1, goes into the postseason No. 2. Sarah Lawton and Holy Cross have leapt over NVL rival Seymour to claim the No. 3 spot while Southington and Middletown are fourth and fifth, respectively.
Other moves included Seymour’s fall from No. 3 to No. 6 and unbeaten Griswold’s rise from No. 10 to No. 8.
League tournaments are already underway and the state tournament pairings will be released on Friday, May 26.
