Despite losing for the first time in 38 games, Cheshire retained its hold on the top spot in the latest GameTimeCT / Register Top 10 Softball Poll this week.

The Rams rebounded from their loss to Guilford and capped the week with a 5-0 victory over defending Class L champion Fitch.

But the Rams did lose three No. 1 votes to No. 2 Norwich Free Academy, which pulled within 10 points of Cheshire.

Seymour, which avenged its only loss vs. Oxford last week, and Holy Cross moved up to Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.

With Masuk returned to the poll after a brief absence. Unbeaten Griswold entered the Top 10 for the first time this season.
