Haddam-Killingworth 24, Old Saybrook 1 (5) >> At Higganum, Rachel Senechal (four RBIs) and Faith Mauri each homered and winning pitcher Hannah Theriault struck out six over four innings to power the host Cougars to their seventh straight win.
Amanda Minervino had three hits and Ari Masotti (double, triple), and Riley Mroczka had two hits apiece for H-K (7-2).
The Rams fell to 2-8.
Coginchaug 9, Portland 0 >> At Durham, senior pitcher Gabby Diaz allowed just three hits, walked none and struck out 10 to lead the host Blue Devils.
Carly Lane, Emily Smith and Diaz each had two hits and two RBIs, while Natalie Labasi also had two hits for Coginchaug (7-2).
Ruth Kelly had a triple for the Highlanders (1-6).

Middletown 91, Berlin 59 >> Laurenzo Thompkins captured both the 110 hurdles (15.69) and the 300 hurdles (41.12), and Justin McMillian won the 400 (52.12) and the 200 (23.24) to lead the visiting Blue Dragons.
Girls Outdoor Track
Mercy 88, Wilbur Cross 62; Mercy 99, East Haven 51 >> At New Haven, Ava Coleman won the 100 hurdles (16.7), 300 hurdles (51.4) and the pole vault (10-6) to lead the Tigers.
Boys Tennis
Newington 6, Middletown 1 >> Joel Morales took fourth singles in three sets for the Blue Dragons (0-4).
Ron Abraham, one of the state’s top players, defeated Peter Flynn, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to lead the host Indians (3-2).
“I thought Peter played very well and Joel was steady at No. 4 singles,” Middletown coach Rick Privott said.
Cromwell 4, Morgan 3 >> Jared Grant, Justin Risley, and Christian Parker notched straight set singles wins, while Mikko Millares and David Dawidowski took first doubles to lead the host Panthers (3-6). Tejas Patel took first singles for the Huskies (7-4).
Xavier 5, Hamden 2 >> Rich Ciamarra, Dylan Amble, and Hieu Ton earned straight set singles wins for the visiting Falcons (6-3).
